Car Park Surfacing in Bolton and the North West

A car park has to take turning traffic, standing loads and surface water, so the build-up matters as much as the finish. We handle the full job: excavation, sub-base, surfacing, edging, falls, then the bay layout and line marking. Works can be phased so part of the car park stays in use, and out-of-hours working is an option where closing the site during the day is not.

From a small private car park to a large retail or multi-storey site, we handle the full range: new surfacing, resurfacing, renovation and repair. Every job starts with a free site survey so the quote is accurate, and we work regularly with businesses, councils and local authorities across the North West.

What’s included

  • Excavation and a sub-base sized for the loading
  • Surfacing, edging and falls
  • Bay layout, hatching and disabled bays marked
  • Phased works to keep part of the site open

How we do it

  1. 01

    Survey and layout

We survey the car park, agree the build-up, and plan the bay layout and circulation.

  2. 02

    Surface in phases

We phase the surfacing so part of the car park stays in use, working out of hours where needed.

  3. 03

    Mark out

We set out and mark the bays, hatching, disabled bays and any signage once the surface has cured.

THB Contractors car park surfacing work in the North West

Why us

Why choose THB Contractors

With over 20 years of experience serving Bolton, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Cheshire, we are a first choice for driveways and surfacing across the region. You are trusting someone to dig up the front of your property, or to take a car park out of use for a few days, so it is worth knowing how we work before you do. We keep it simple: a proper look before we price, the base built for the ground we actually find, and the same team on the job from the first visit to the last sweep-up.

  • Over 20 years’ experience

Two decades laying driveways, patios and commercial surfaces across the North West, with a reputation built on quality workmanship and reliable, tidy jobs.

  • A written, itemised quote

You get the price in writing after a site visit, so there are no surprises once the job starts.

  • The base done properly

Most surfaces fail from underneath. We build the base for the ground we find, not a one-size dig-out.

  • The same people throughout

You deal with the same team from the quote to the day the job finishes.

  • Domestic and commercial

From a single driveway to a full car park, priced and planned the same careful way.

The price

What affects the price

Every job is quoted after a free site visit, so the price fits the work in front of us rather than a guess off a description. The main things that move the figure:

  • The area and the standing and turning loads it carries
  • Whether the site can close or must be phased
  • Kerbing and the bay layout
  • Out-of-hours working

Common questions

Can the car park stay open during the work?

Usually in part. We phase the surfacing so a section stays usable, and can work out of hours where a daytime closure is not workable.

Do you mark the bays as well?

Yes. Bay layout, hatching, disabled bays, arrows and signage are marked once the new surface has cured.

Do you resurface or start from scratch?

It depends on the base. Where it is sound we can overlay; where it has failed we address it first. We survey it and price the option that lasts.

Can you fix a car park that holds water?

Yes. We set the falls so surface water clears the car park rather than pooling in the bays.

Do you handle disabled bays and signage?

Yes. Disabled bays, hatching, arrows, lettering and signage are all part of the line-marking we do once the surface has cured.
